Herrin is a city located in Williamson County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 11,298.
It was the site of the 1922 Herrin massacre, which left 21 dead. Two union miners, Jordie Henderson and Joe Pitkewicius, were killed as well as 19 strike-breakers. (More Info and Source)
